Knowing Mum is cared for when I’m on the other side of the world
When Nigel relocated to China he wanted to make sure his mum Iris would be looked after, that’s why he chose Trustcare.
“When I moved to China it was difficult for me to make sure my mum Iris had the care and support she needed to remain independent. Mum lives in one of Trafford Housing Trust’s sheltered schemes which is how I heard about Trustcare.
The company stood out to me because you can tell they really care and this was seen from the very outset. Step one was meeting the managers Sarah and Philomena, discussing options and listening to their professional advice - together we agreed what was needed.
A personal Care Plan with daily visits was created for mum with agreed goals to measure the quality of the service that was being delivered, such as improving the general welfare of my mum and to help sustain her residency. The flexibility of the service (allowing for dental, doctor and hospital appointments, etc.) is also extremely helpful.
Having now run this plan now for a few weeks the feedback I have received from them is already very encouraging. The goals we set are already being achieved and the Carers who visit with mum are doing a great job. I am in regular contact with the managers through email so we can continue to monitor and review the Care Plan and make any adjustments.
I am really pleased we have been able to see a measurable improvement in such a short time. A real team effort! Talking with my mother recently, I can now say she is very happy as she continues to enjoy staying within the community at the scheme.
We recently celebrated her 90th Birthday at the scheme, it was a great party with both family and friends. Above is a picture with my mother in the centre (behind me seated in front) surrounded by her family!
